Monica Humphries is a U.S.-based travel reporter and photographer, crisscrossing the country in her Ram Promaster and capturing stories from the road. She covers a range of topics with a focus on the outdoors, alternative living, and luxury travel.

When she’s not off-grid in her van, you can find her documenting gorilla treks in Uganda, uncovering the latest short-term rental scam, photographing private islands in Central America, or reporting from her home base in Colorado.

Monica spent the past five years as a travel journalist at Business Insider. Before that, she specialized in solutions journalism at the startup NationSwell. She graduated from the University of Florida in 2018 with a degree in journalism.
